Blood Donation Day – 2020

The Red Ribbon Club of Don Bosco College Angadikadavu, organized a meeting via Google Meet on October 2nd, 2020, as part of the celebration of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on October 1st. Two persons shared their experience of donating blood and an awareness was created on blood donation. About 32 students of the college from the second and third year of MCA and faculty members were theparticipants in the event.

The event was organized by Desny Antony, Coordinator of Red Ribbon Club and student members of the college. On the occasion, Desny Antony, Coordinator of Red Ribbon Club gave the welcome speech and Fr. Antony John, Principal inaugurated the event and gave an introduction about the programme. He said that the blood donation is one of the most significant contribution that a student could make towards the society. There should be an attitude of donating blood whenever it is possible. He explained the objectives of blood donation and its advantages.

Fr. Jimmy Jose, Administrator, Don Bosco Institute of Higher Education, shared his experience about the Blood Donation. His experience from the time of his study was very motivating to the RRC members. He told that RRC members, anyone who is healthy, can donate blood and therefore there is no harm. He said from his own experience that donating blood does not cause any health problems. It helped to create more confidence in the members.

Jisna Devasya, an active member of RRC and a third year MCA student shared her experience of donating her blood for the first time last year. Her sharing of experience has helped others to come forward to donate the blood without fear.
